Personal Statement

I would describe myself as a quick post who plays like a guard from the outside. I am long and lean, but very strong for my body type. I am able to use my strength and quickness to get steals inside the paint and out on the perimeter. I have amazing endurance – I do long distance training in the off-season, but maintain my quickness up and down the court. I take pride in my defense, and love to rebound. My ability to jump and anticipate where the ball is going to be makes me a force on the boards.

Offensively, I am extremely versatile. I can post up, but would rather take my defender while facing the basket. I have a nice jump shot, and can score from just about anywhere. It wasn’t my role in college, but I have the ability to be a great 3-point shooter. Lastly, i have the ball-handling skills of a guard and am explosive enough to be an effective wing player.

Most of my individual success in basketball doesn’t necessarily come from skill or experience – it comes from the fact that I am the hardest worker on the court. I am passionate and extremely competitive. I am a team player – nothing is more rewarding than my team’s success.
