Antuan Smith (born May 1,1981) is an American basketball player who played organized basketball since the 5th grade level. A 6'1, 175 pound guard, Smith is still striving for the best.

Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois where as a young kid, he grew up playing on the south side under the hard coaching and leadership of his father, Bobby Smith. While Smith coached his son, he tried to equip his young son with the basic fundamental of the game and most of, "being coachable". Smith went on to play for local George Washington on the east side, where he received most-improved player along with most valuable player as a high school player, leading the minutemen to a 20-1 season, to win the division title by defeating Chicago Vocational School, his father's former high school.

Personal

Not long after Smith's high school years did he marry at the age of nineteen and be accompanied by his first daughter, Jasmine Daje Dakota Smith. Soon after, Smith enlisted into the U.S. Army as 62B stationed in Ft. Polk, Louisiana where he served for two years. Smith went on and became a professional over the road truck driver. Not very long after did Smith receive an opportunity to shine once again on the basketball court.

Professional

In February of 2007, Smith was picked up by the Texas Professional Basketball where he played for the Midland Heat. Head coach and owner, Cleveland Phelps, was able to spot the talent and love still left in Smith to offer him another shot at his career. With hard work and dedication, Smith went on to help the Heat win two titles, accompanied by (Arkansas Razorbacks, Charles Tatum), (UTPB- Charncy Ephriam).

With that, the team expanded and joined the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team was and still remain the West Texas Whirlwinds, where they had a pretty successful first year and are still going strong today. Smith was picked up by the San Marcos Knights of the United Basketball League (UBL) in the spring of 2008. It was not very long that Smith was immediately noticed by head coach Benjamin Mireles, of the South Texas Showboats, where he currently plays in the ABA.
